== Installing VLC on Ubuntu GNU/Linux ==
#REDIRECT [[Documentation:Installing VLC#Ubuntu]]
You can install VLC using the apt-get program (or its GUI, Synaptic). Make sure you [https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/Ubuntu enabled the Universe repository] and type the following:
  $ sudo apt-get install vlc
Look out: there are many deprecated vlc based packages, like gnome-vlc, etc. Just installing vlc will do.
