Windows Media Player

Windows Media Player is the standard video and audio application on every Windows system. Though many people use it, by default it isn't that powerful. It doesn't do MPEG2 or MPEG4 and is dependent on the WMV and ASF formats.
Streaming to VLC
It is possible to stream between Windows Media Player and VLC.
