Skin support for VLC is now mature and there are some wonderful skins. You may like to use them rather than the default interface.


First, go to the Skin page and choose a skin.

Here's a example how to install a skin (Winamp5 skin):

Download this file. Now run vlc -I skins2 (or launch VLC skins if you've got a shortcut to it). VLC opens with its default skin. Hit Ctrl-S and choose the .vlt file. VLC has now a new default skin!
