This is a video codec. The name to use at the command line is h261. VLC can encode using this codec. This codec is from the avcodec module. |
H.261 is an ITU-T standard for video compression. It is the first standard in the H.26x series, and the first usable video codec standard; it was preceded only by the experimental H.120 standard that never saw any use. It was succeeded by H.262/MPEG-2 Part 2.
