A spin off from SGI in 2000, Kasenna's Mediabase product is one of the most widely deployed VoD software solutions in the IP streaming industry, providing extremely high density streaming and capture solutions for commercial off the shelf RAM based and Disk based Intel server platforms.

Having been so widely deployed, Kasenna has a significantly extended RTSP solution that has been interoperability tested by almost all mainstream vendors at some time in the last 10 or more years, and has at various times been integrated with all the major middleware solutions.

Mediabase is built on a completly open set of API documents and runs in the industry standard Linux Enterprise environment. Mediabase supports MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 streams (H264 in MPEG2 TS).
